Today has been a crazy day! I followed my colleagues to have a "Pandu Pandu Cari Makan" trip. At about 10am, Ah Chew came to my place to fetch me. We went to Pacific Megamall to meet up with JS. Then, we were waiting for the rest of the colleagues, Chiang Wei , Lee Chin, Xiao Mei Mei and Soo Chuin, before we started our journey.
Our first station was Ching Huat Restaurant. It's located in hinterlands. I didn't know where is it. Haha... Honestly, I can say that the food at there was quite tasty. You may give it a try!
We ordered a plate of fried noodles, a plate of steamed octopus, a plate of fried quails, a plate of pan-fried shrimps with vegetables, a plate of steamed clams and a plate of steamed fish. Besides that, we drank a bottle of 1.5l herbs tea and another bottle of 1.5l tuak (an alcoholic beverage made of fermented rice, yeast and sugar and drunk in Borneo and East Malaysia).
After that, we headed to Wan Li Laksa and Chendul Restaurant at Sungai Bakap, S.P.S. to eat Laksa and Chendul. I personally felt that the laksa sold in Ayer Itam was better, but the laksa here comes with a pan-fried shrimps with vegetables which makes it special and different from others. However, the chendul sold at here tasted "so so" (normal), nothing special. While waiting for Ah Chew's friends, we had a break there.
About 45 minutes later, we went to another shop. This shop is mainly selling Cai Kuey (in Hokkien). I didn't notice what is the name of the shop. And again, I can tell you that the dumplings were not tasty at all for me. One man's meat is another man's poison. It might be good for others, but it was bad for me.
Huh.... Very full!! But we still need to go for thai fried trotter at another restaurant. Since all of us were full, we only ordered a plate of thai fried trotter, a plate of toad and again a plate of steamed octopus. We ordered a jug of a type of fruits called Sha Lei (in Cantonese) for our drinks. The uncle got shock when he was getting our orders. Why? Because there were 9 of us but we only ordered for serving size of 3 persons. Haha!! At the end, we still managed to finish it!
At around 3.30pm, I reached my home in Penang. Thanks to Ah Chew for fetching me! I enjoyed this trip very much...
